Ma hakkasin lugema Derk-Jan Eppinki raamatut “Life of a European mandarin”. Ja ma juba pean äratundmisrõõmuga tsiteerima järgmisi lõike:

“I learnt that in the world of Princess (Commission – k.p.) honesty is not a virtue but a weakness. I discovered that there is a hidden agenda, or even two or three lurking beneath every agenda! Emotion is always dangerous: administrative autism is much more acceptable. Anger is a sign of political shrewdness, providing it is faked. Genuine anger is invariably fatal and is guaranteed to put you on the losing side. Altruism is an unknow concept and there is no such thing as a free lunch. Above all, I realised that hypocrisy is the farther of all victories, while naivety is the mother of all defeats”

Ja väike lõik parlamendist:

“Night-time sessions inside Parliament were often followed by night-time sessions outside Parliament. It is certainly true to say that Copper Bar did very little to promote the family values which were so frequently preached during the parliamentary debates!”

Võimalik, et tuleb lisatsitaate. Sest kuidas nüüd öelda: ma ei oleks ise osanud seda kõike paremini öelda. :=)
